High Frequency Treatments at 86 Soleil Spa

In my post about how I healed my cystic acne, I credit high frequency treatments as one of the most beneficial aspects to what accelerated the healing process for me. However, high frequency is not only beneficial for acneic skin, as it has a germicidal affect, but has been shown to increase collagen and elastin production, encourage lymphatic drainage, and enhance blood circulation, making it a beneficial choice for all skin types, and those who wish to diminish the signs of aging as well. High frequency is a safe, gentle and non-invasive modality which uses the power of low level electric current to stimulate blood flow, dilate superficial blood vessels, re-texturize. Wrinkles are softened away, pore size is reduced and the overall texture of the skin is instantly energized, rosy, firm, and noticeably softer, even after just one treatment. The oxygenating effect of this treatment is also excellent at accelerating the healing process of almost any skin lesion, from acne, to scars.

Benefits:

  • Gentle, non-invasive alternative to laser resurfacing and chemical peels
  • Effective treatment for acne, enlarged pores, and scarring
  • Consistent treatments can provide lasting cumulative long-term, anti-aging alternative results such as fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin
  • Stimulates hair growth

The following precautions should be taken: avoid using AHA or Glycolic Acid products, pregnancy, cuts and abrasions, diabetes, heart disease or pacemaker, metal pins or plates, dental braces, Sunburn, phlebitis or thrombosis, vascular conditions, or under a physician’s care.

Pure, Affordable Skincare

What is important to you when you think about skincare? Do you want a line that is results-based, no matter what the ingredients? Do you want skincare that is cheap, and does the job? Or do you want products that are devoid of harmful ingredients? Or, do you want it all? Pure, affordable skincare that delivers?

When I first graduated Esthetics school, I was working in a very popular day spa in the area, and working completely on commissions. I was only paid based on whether I had a client on my table. My paycheck depended on my sales, and I didn’t like it one bit. I did however, enjoy the trainings that enabled us to learn all about the benefits of the product. I went to trainings for Eminence, Jane Iredale, Dermalogica and Skinceuticals, and I always thought that you couldn’t win with just one line. It was either, you had a really great results-based, scientifically-formulated product line, like Skinceuticals, but you wouldn’t get a paraben-free guarantee. With a line like Dermalogica, you had a product for pretty much every skin condition, and everything worked (okay), with a great price point, but again, there were ingredients I wasn’t too keen on. Then you had a line like Eminence, which I still really love, as they’re all organic and formulated with pure ingredients, but wow, they are so expensive, and if you were to try to replace everything in your skin care regime with an Eminence product, you probably aren’t going to be buying groceries, or filling up your tank this month.

To be honest, I really wasn’t looking for a line of product that was pure, results-based and affordable, or that met all of my standards in one go, because I didn’t think it existed. I wanted to be able to recommend a great tan extender or tan-preserving pH-correct lotion that would help my clients be able to keep their new spray tan upwards of 10 days, rather than 5. But I didn’t know what to recommend. So I just didn’t.

I was at a networking event in Cary, where I live, meeting other like-minded women entrepreneurs, sharing ideas and the basis behind our businesses, when I met my friend Ann, who let me know she was interested in partnering with professionals like me who were into natural skincare. She simply wanted to partner, and do an event together. I didn’t know anything about Arbonne, and had never heard of it at all. We had lunch together, and she started telling me about the product line, and gave me a catalog.

Right off the bat, I was so impressed that a line could deliver not only a skincare line that was free of so many of the ingredients I had come to fear to use such as parabens, Mineral oil, and PABA, but that they also carried a nutritional line, which speaks to the fact that healthy skin starts from the inside out. The protein shakes contain most importantly to me, no sucralose (splenda), dairy, soy or even gluten.

For the quality of the ingredients, the price point is right on the mark. Now, I’m used to seeing boutique spa prices, and have come to accept that a good cleanser is going to be in the range of $25-40. If you compare the prices to that of a department store, you’re going to be shocked (in a good way) but if you’re comparing the prices to what you might find at the drug store, know that unfortunately, you really get what you pay for. Even if you were to shop at a place like Whole Foods for your skincare, which is not a bad choice, you’re not going to be guaranteed that the products will not contain parabens (a preservative that has been found in breast tumors in women) or even that it will be pH correct.

Not only that, but there are ways to save on your favorite products with Arbonne. There’s a membership you can purchase for the year, that they refer to as “Preferred Client” membership, and for $20, for the whole year, you save 20% on whatever you’d like. As a consultant, you save 35%, which is wholesale pricing.

I just love the product line, as a professional, and appreciate that this company has found a way to formulate the products using the best of both worlds, essentially: scientifically-formulated and dermatologist-tested skincare, cosmetics and nutrition, that is free of ingredients which we know to be harmful.

If you’d like further information about how to get started using this skincare line, or for a complimentary consultation over the phone, contact me at caley@86soleil.com

To shop now, at your convenience, RSVP your reply ‘yes’ here, between now and April 30th until 11pm to support local business with 86 Soleil Spray Tanning & Spa.

Announcing Spa Services at 86 Soleil in Cary, NC!

It’s been all of an entire year, and 4 months but I am finally, at long last, going to be taking full advantage of my education as a Licensed Esthetician, starting May of 2013!

Since graduating Miller Motte College, I have been very busy, and although I made a few detours, I knew since the day I wrote my business plan for a class project that being an entrepreneur was my true calling as an Esthetician.

I knew however, that I didn’t want to work in a fruity-frou-frou spa. One of those places you might have the luxury of scoring a gift card to once in oh, 3 years for your birthday or an anniversary, only to never visit again for another 3 years, if even. I knew that I wanted to have an established client base that trusted me, and who I would see on a regular basis.

You may recall from visiting the home page on this site, that acne was a real thing for me, and continues to be an issue if I don’t maintain my skin with a good regimen. There was no way that I would have been able to heal my acne without my education as an Esthetician, and being a guinea pig for every treatment, product and procedure we had available to us while in school. I really didn’t know what worked at that point, so my fellow students/teachers and I tried everything we knew to work, until finally, something (a few things, actually) did. Most people are not going to be able to spend thousands on the education to become a skin care expert, nor should they have to. I also believe that we shouldn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for a facial, and that facials should be a treatment just as routine as a haircut, or getting an oil change. I mean, it’s your SKIN–isn’t that the first thing people notice about you, really? Our body’s largest organ deserves some TLC, and I am just the Esthetician suited for the job.

Next month, starting May 1, 2013, I will be renting a small space at the location of 1230 SE Maynard Rd (Suite 102)  in Cary, very near Cary Town Center Mall, and Cary High School, in order to provide my clients with facials, lash and brow tinting and facial waxing to start. More treatments will be added to the menu of services as time goes on, but we’ll start with the necessary basics and work our way from there.

I am so excited about this next venture, and sincerely hope that each of my clients in the Triangle region who have been scoring organic spray tans on the go, will find the answer to all of your skincare needs with me, because I truly have the best clients anyone could ask for. I will most definitely still be offering glows to go, at your location, but all spa services will be provided at the beautiful new location in Cary so you can relax and rejuvenate in a serene environment.

I’ll be posting a menu of the descriptions of each spa service to be offered shortly, so stay tuned!

Support Local Business & Make Your Mother Happy!

I have an amazing deal for you all, and it’s going on  now through the last of this month: April 30th, 2013. Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, and this year, with my help, you’ll be prepared!

Plans are underway for me to finally open up a little room of my own, over in Cary, near the mall, offering facials and other Aesthetic services (facials, body treatments, lash extensions, lash tinting, facial waxing, and more!).

In order to be able to deliver the best products and services and treatments at the best value for my clients, I have teamed up with a very reputable brand you may know of, Arbonne International. This line is clinically tested, contains no parabens, PABA, mineral oil, or animal products.  If I meet the retail goal of $3900 this month, I will promote to District Manager, which simply means that I will earn commission on the product that I sell, as well as what I purchase for inventory for the spa. This means that the cost of treatments and services does not have to be as high as it might at any other spa in the area. I want to be able to provide the best treatments, without sacrificing health for beauty, at reasonable prices. I truly feel that we should be going in for a facial, as often as we would get a haircut, and that one should see their Esthetician at least once a month. After all, isn’t your skin at least, if not way more important than what your hair looks like?? Currently, most people simply cannot afford to do that. I know how much I struggled with having skin issues, and how hard it was to try to heal them, on my own, and with what little money I had. I want to be able to help people with their skin, without breaking their budget to do so.

Without further ado, the deal is this:

Visit https://arbonne.com/ to browse and shop for paraben-free cosmetics, baby care, skin care and nutritional supplments/protein shakes. Every single dollar counts towards my goal. Simply enter ID 13459956 at checkout and your purchase will go towards my goal for the month. If you are unsure of what skin type you have, or need product recommendations, give me a call, or send an email to caley@86soleil.com

Purchase $100 in retail product, and receive a $20 gift voucher good towards any esthetic service/treatment (at the Cary location after May 1, 2013) or an organic spray tan, delivered to you, anytime from now through the end of 2013.

Purchase $250 in retail product and receive a $50 gift voucher, towards esthetic services/treatments PLUS an additional $125 worth of product of your choice for $25.

If you have any questions at all, I would love to speak with you personally, so text or call me directly at 919 208 3821.

Caley

My Vision for 86 Soleil…

Today I’m giving you all the scoop on exciting news for where my mobile spray tanning business is going in the next 3 months!

As many of you may know from reading elsewhere, I wrote the business plan for what would become 86 Soleil Organic Spray Tanning back in October of 2011 as a class assignment while I was training to be an Esthetician at Miller Motte College in Cary, NC.

While I was working on that assignment, something just clicked, and all of a sudden, making my business a reality became an obsession. I got a spray tan at a salon near my house while I was writing the plan, and figured out what it was that I liked and didn’t like about the experience, and how I would improve upon those aspects in my business. I would talk about it to everyone I knew, and then one day, I bit the bullet and bought my own equipment. I officially started the business last August of 2012.

For the past 6 months, I’ve been working a full-time day job in RTP and spray tanning morning, nights, weekends, even on my lunch break! I’ve even used my days off just to catch up with delivering spray tans. I recently made a very big decision: to quit my steady job with benefits to jump in with both feet and make 86 Soleil the successful enterprise I know it will be.

I’ll still be working part-time, waiting tables until I can save up enough money to be able to rent my own space (probably in Cary, NC), providing facial treatments, body treatments and other Esthetic services, including organic spray tanning.

In the meantime, I am also working as a consultant for Arbonne International, and am doing my best to reach goals for the Strong Start Program, which will enable me to earn $700 worth of paraben-free, all-natural Swiss grade skincare at no charge, to support my new business.

If you haven’t had a chance to already, I encourage you to check out all the line has to offer by visiting arbonne.com and you can enter my ID #13459956 in order to purchase product online. To find out how to get the most for your money, or if you have specific questions based on your skin conditions, type or if you need recommendations, please contact me directly, at 1 919-208-3821 or by email at caley@86soleil.com. Whether you live in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia, I can help you out!

Thanks for reading, and I’ll keep you posted on the exciting new changes coming to 86 Soleil!

Choosing the Best Skin Care Product

As you may know from reading other posts on this site, I am a consultant with Arbonne International. Before choosing this skin care product line, I took into account several factors, which I will provide here for anyone who is researching another product line, or thinking of using or even selling Arbonne as well. The following list is an excerpt from my textbook in Esthetician school, Milady’s Standard Esthetics.

Are the ingredients high quality and beneficial?

Yes, in fact, Arbonne’s philosophy is simply: Pure, Safe and Beneficial. What I really love about this line is that no matter which product you may choose from their catalog, you won’t find anything containing animal rendering or an animal by-product of any kind, nor mineral oil, formaldehyde-donating preservatives, parabens or PABA . You may read even more about the company’s unwavering ingredient standards here.

Are the products versatile–that is, effective for all skin types?

Not only does Arbonne offer an extensive line of skin care products and nutritional/weight-loss products for adults with all skin types, including acneic skin, aging skin, sensitive skin, and hyperpigmented skin, there is also a men’s line and a baby line, which is known for being very effective for babies suffering from a common condition known as eczema.

Are the wholesale cost and the retail pricing affordable?

Very much so. In fact, one of the most rewarding aspects to working with Arbonne that I have found are the rewards and incentives the company offers both its consultants and retail clients.  I’m able to not only afford Swiss grade skin care at a discount of 35% off, with a  minimal yearly investment ($79 the first year, and only $15 to renew), but I can also pass the discount on to my clients. Preferred clients who pay $20 for a discount of 20% all year enjoy tremendous savings and even clients who pay retail prices (which are comparable ounce to dollar for any product offered in a boutique spa) enjoy a 45 day money back guarantee, allowing one to first try the product for a couple of weeks while still being able to return the product if necessary. On top of the discounts mentioned, there are savings when you buy a set of any skin care set within the line, and for every $250 order, you receive $125 worth of product (your choice) for only $25. There are a number of other discounts I haven’t covered here, but if you would like a more thorough description of the benefits offered, please email me at caley@86soleil or call 919 208 3821.

Is the product name recognizable and reputable?

Actually, Arbonne has been around since 1980. This company has been way ahead of the trend when it comes to offering products for the discerning client, formulated without harmful ingredients that at the time, the typical consumer was not even aware of.

How are the products packaged?

Arbonne maintains a commitment they refer to as The Ever Green Commitment, describing their “efforts to match the purity of [their] ingredients with the earth friendliness of [their] packaging. In 2012, [their] relaunch of Arbonne® product lines with more earth friendly packaging resulted in a 50% material source reduction.”

What support can you anticipate from the company or supplier? (The costs of samples and brochures, return policies, and marketing promotions affect your business)?

When you become a consultant with Arbonne, not only do you have access to your sponsor, who you will know and speak with on a regular basis, you will also have access to a wealth of training knowledge, training, tools, webinars, conference calls, and literature as well as networking and being introduced to other individuals in your direct upline who are also willing and more than happy to provide any kind of support, encouragement, or advice you could ever need. Samples and catalogs are included when you become a consultant, and are offered at very reasonable prices to re-purchase and the company is always offering some sort of marketing promotion to make the shopping experience even more rewarding. For instance, earlier this month, they had a promotion going on offering a free neck cream (valued at $82) when you purchased the entire Re9 line (anti-aging skin care line). No matter if you are a consultant, preferred client or a retail client you would be able to take advantage of this discount on top of getting $125 worth of product for only $25 and at a discount (for preferred clients and consultants).

If you have any questions at all about becoming an Arbonne retail client, preferred client or if you are interested in getting the best discount, and making money by recommending this product line to others (which I’m confident you will want to do regardless of whether you choose to do so), give me a call when you’re ready and I’ll be happy to get you started. 919 208 3821

An Esthetician Recommends: Natural Products for a Healthy Long-Lasting Sunless Tan

Of the many reasons I began working with the Arbonne line, one of my main reasons is because I wanted to be able to recommend a sunless tan product to my clients to enhance and maintain their tan with at least the same standards of the paraben-free tanning solution I use.  I couldn’t very well promote paraben-free, vegan-certified tanning solution and then turn around and say, “Oh just go to the drugstore, find the cheapest self-tanner you can, and slather up!” After all, I began my business because I knew that there were (pale) people like me, who wanted a glow but didn’t want the sun damage or to have to apply stinky, orange solution in all the hard-to-reach places themselves. And I know that many of the self-tan products simply aren’t worth the time, money or effort involved.

Not so with these babies. The best way to keep a long-lasting faux glow is to prepare, maintain and enhance. You’ll want to prepare your skin for the treatment by shaving and exfoliating, maintain your sunless tan with a good moisturizer that contains an SPF, and enhance your tan with a good bronzer, as your face is the quickest to fade. These are my three favorite paraben-free, vegan-certified products to help me push the life of my sunless tan from 5 days to 7 or 10.

body scrub

Prepare with this non-oil based body scrub

Arbonne FC5 Exfoliating Body Scrub

This gel-based scrub is from my favorite Arbonne skin care line: FC5! Fresh cell technology incoporates incapsulated antioxidants, that when burst open while you are scrubbing, deliver fresh nutrients to your cells–I like to call it “juicing for your skin”. The whole line smells incredibly fresh, like strawberries, mango and kiwi! When choosing a scrub before your sunless tan, you want to pick one that is not oil-based, as the oils will prevent the tanning solution from adhering to your skin.

best bronzer

86 the shimmer for your best bronze ever!

Arbonne Bronzer

This bronzer is wonderful because it contains no sparkle, which can be unflattering for many skin types as shimmer tends to enhance scars, acne, lines and wrinkles. Most of us aren’t 13 anymore, so let’s ditch the glitter! I use the bronzer on my face everyday, and even when I’m super pale, it gives a nice natural nutty brown color that blends flawlessly and never looks  ”Jersey Shore”.

sunless tan

2-in-1 sunless tanner + spf

Arbonne Made in the Shade with SPF

Arbonne’s version of a self-tanner with protection is a hit! I only wish the SPF factor was a little higher, (it’s 15) so I would recommend layering with sunscreen after it dries or mixing in a little SPF 30 if you’re going to be spending a lot of time outside. The color is subtle, and at first I thought a little too subtle, until I looked at my hands one day after forgetting to wipe my palms post-application and they were glowing–yuck! Rookie mistake! But I love what this extender does for my tan–since I exfoliate regularly, I never keep much of the initial spray tan application on my face as a result, so I put a little of this on each day, followed by the bronzer, and I’m good to glow!

Exciting News–86 Soleil Offers Vegan Skincare!

I’ve got some exciting news that I’m expanding my brand beyond just organic spray tanning, and wanted to let you all in on a great deal for this month!

I’ve been looking for a skincare line to recommend to my clients that is high quality (paraben-free especially) and does not cost what you would pay in a boutique spa.

I’ve found all that and then some in Arbonne. You may or may not have heard of this company before, since its been around since 1980 but they have been way ahead of the trend–offering skincare that does not include not only parabens, but also no animal products or by-products, is completely plant-based, free of formaldehyde-donating preservatives, and of petroleum-based ingredients.

I’ve been using the product line since last summer, and I’ve done my homework and haven’t been able to find anything else that comes close.

From baby care, anti-aging, a line for hyperpigmentation/pregnancy mask, gluten/dairy/soy free protein shakes to aromatherapy, they’ve got it all.

Want to find more about this paraben-free vegan skin care line? You’ve got options! Whether you’d like a tan extender with SPF, vegan protein shakes to help you shed unwanted winter weight, or a an anti-aging skin care line, you can try out a sample, peruse a catalog or enjoy your products at a deep discount! Invite a couple friends over to check out the goods, and you may qualify for free product. At my last party (of 8 people) I scored $250 worth of product for only $50!

At your party we can do facials, a foot soak (the next best thing to a pedicure when you don’t have the $ or time) or even a vegan protein shake tasting party! Your party can feature any products you are interested in, or would like to try, including cosmetics. (And since I know a thing or two about makeup, you could score a free makeover by yours truly!)

For my business launch this month, I’m offering a FREE

organic spray tan to those of you who book a vegan skincare

party/presentation with only 3 people! $0 COST TO YOU :)

If you think you may know even a couple people who would be interested in changing their brands to a healthier alternative at a better price, just send me an email (caley@86soleil.com) and I can drop off a catalog or schedule a time to do a short presentation/spa party, or we could just grab coffee and check out the catalog.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be featuring in-depth reviews and descriptions of my favorite Arbonne products and their benefits.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
